Happy Birthday
Nan  -  100

Hello friends!
Today I am sharing an easel card with you all.

I was asked to make a card for a very special lady who is turning 100 today.
 Her favourite colour is blue.
My inspiration for this came from the very talented Heather Jacob.
Stash busting again using some Beautiful Maja Design papers. I made the blue layers by cutting rectangles and using a circle punch to round the corners, then stitched each piece.  I used a cricut to cut the doily and the leaves and a Fiskas punch for the lacey strip. I coloured the heart with some Tattered Angels glimmermist and stitched the thread through it. I added a few roses and rosebuds, some Twiddlybitz chipboard pieces and thread to make the clusters. Was good to get the punches back out and use them again and I am slowly using up my TA mists.

If you feel inspired to create an easel card just google "How to make an Easel Card" for instructions....so easy to make, yet very effective..... add as much or a little as you want.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by. I  Love reading all your kind comments.

My More Than Words Challenges DT September Reveal - Fearless and Grunge

Hello to all my Scrappy Friends!

More Than Words Challenge have an awesome challenge this month for you to play along with.
Word - Fearless
Creative - Grungy, we want you to grunge it up!!

This is my Design Team reveal.

{Be Fearless}

A close up of my  grungy background.
I started by adding a layer of white paint, swiping it down my page with an old credit card. I then added  2 different coloured mists ,Tattered Angels and Lindys Stamp Gang. I also added some stamping and a few torn washi tape strips.

Here I have altered a piece of Dusty Attic Chipboard by painting it white, once it was dry I added  come Tattered Angels Mist and some Lindys Stamp Gang Mist. I let it dry then I rubbed parts of it with an emery board to grunge it up.

Another close up of the grungy background and chippie pieces.
And my fearless son jumping off rocks....luckily to a soft landing.

A close up of the Dusty Attic Polaroid Frame which I cut to fit around the photo.
I grunged it up with different inks and some washi.

He is Fearless .
Stash busting again.
I am hoping to inspire crafters to delve deep into their stash and use something that has been in there for awhile. This piece of Basic Grey paper (one of my favourite brands when I first started scrapbooking) has been in my stash for  8 or more years. You don't have to have the latest or greatest papers or embellies to play along.  Just use what you have, stick to your style , create , have fun and share your creation with us.

This is a fun challenge...a chance to get your fingers dirty.
Click here to see the awesome inspiration from the Design Team.

We would love to see what you create.
Remember to share on our More Than Words Challenge Blog to be in with a chance to win one of the fabulous prizes from the generous sponsors.

Thanks for stopping by and for your lovely comments.

My Kraft+ DT September Challenge Reveal - "BUZZ"

Hello to all my Scrappy Friends!

Sandra Wallace has come up with the most amazing September Challenge at Kraft+,
and how gorgeous are the graphics by Amanda Hall.

What's the Buzz

 My Design Team layout

{BUZZ}

When I first saw this challenge I knew exactly what photo I wanted to scrap...learning more about my camera and playing around with a macro lens, I went out into the garden and found this little bee buzzing around happily from flower to flower...after 20 or more photos ( I'm sure he was thinking I just wish she would piss off ) I came inside and put them up on the big screen....It was such a BUZZ... to see this one come up....well I loved it! And this is the one I wanted to scrap!!!
There is another story behind this layout....I had this layout sitting there and then I started overthinking things and thought No I need to scrap something different...shuffling through photos, papers etc I had another 2 more on the go....yeah crazy I know...I wasted a whole day and achieved absolutely nothing...was so cross with myself....next morning I got up and stuck the bee one down...5 mins later a dear friend called in to see me ( someone you all know very well...) and she set me straight.. Thanks Sandra. Lesson to myself...spot overthinking go with your first thought/idea.
My design was inspired by Amanda's beautiful graphics

To make the background I added some black Gesso randomly to a
Hexagon Crafters workshop template.
Then I added some Kraft cut hexagons over the top...design inspired by the graphics.

A close up of the title "Buzz" and the beautiful quote.
"The hum of BEES is the voice of the garden"

More of the background design with the pops of yellow hexagon  and small black hexagons.

Showing the twirl of thread running down the page.

Check out the Design Teams inspiration here.

I would really love to see  you play along and show us how you interpret this challenge.
You can share your project on the Kraft+ Facebook page
BUT remember you MUST link your project to the Kraft+ blog
so you are eligible to win a  prize from the generous sponsors.
Thank you for stopping by and for the kind comments you leave.
