summer sunday

{Summer Sunday}

My first layout for Scrap Sanity.
The challenge involved a sketch and  the criteria "lets get messy".
I continue my love for cardboard, distressing, stitching and using glimmermist.
Who would have thought 12 months ago I was frightened to even tear a  piece of paper, let alone flick and spray glimmermist over my page  and daub some paint here and there..
I still remember my Dear Mum saying to me...."Janice, its only a piece of paper, tear it"  Thanks Mum xx
Happy Scrapping.

Good Day

{ Good Day }

I printed this photo onto a transparency and backed it with a piece of distressed paper.  The photo is set  back in the page using mounting tape. I have used a mix of  kaiserkraft and prima flowers, a prima vine, glimmermisted the orange flowers and gauze, used shells from the beach, some twine and some fishing line..

 Have a wonderful week.
Thanks for stopping by.

water fun

February sketch challenge at  Scrapboxx

{water fun}

 Janice xx

It is my turn to set  a challenge for the scrappers challenge at  Scrapboxx
Scrappers Challenge #24
I enjoy trying new recipes and I hope you do too!!!!
So my challenge to you is to scrap a page about anything you wish, as many photos as you would like....
BUT the ingredients are going to be different for all of us..
use the letters from your first name to get the ingredients for your page
eg.  J- journaling, journal tags, jigsaw piece
      A-alphas or anything
      N- numbers, notes
it must be scrapbook related, add as much or a little as you like
Once you have all your ingredients, the method is  to arrange them on your page
Cooking shouldn't take long, just stick it all down.and its done, and I bet its Yummy.
When you upload your page let us know what you have used.
Looking forward to seeing what you all create.
PS If your first name is to hard use your surname, and if you get really stuck just leave that letter out,  but most letters do have something to do with scrapping.... you may need to think outside the square though.
Hope you all have fun. I will upload my page tomorrow.
Janice  :) xx

Pages need to be uploaded by midnight  Sunday 4th March, Click on the link above if you would like to join in and have some fun. It has created  lots of chat and got people thinking..Thanks to everyone who has already  played and I look forward to seeing lots more.

Four friends catch up for a cuppa at the 5 loaves Bakery.
Topic of conversation is... that's right  "Scrapbooking".....
and from that day this is the layout I created.
The page does actually have a thin black layer around it..

Thanks so much Sandra for the inspiration, your insight into the scrapping world is amazing, your head is a buzz with ideas that you are only to willing to share. I must say thanks also for the sleepless night....I was thinking of how I could try what you had been talking about  The photo is inset into the page, bit hard to see by these photos.. This is  a bit different to what Sandra was  talking about but this is my interpretation..

Thanks for the blog love everyone, I really am enjoying being in blog land.
 Take care.

I always get some help to photograph my pages.... thanks Smudgee.
Thank to those of you who stop by and leave me such lovely comments, I really do appreciate them.

Whistler January 2012

What a week its been. They have had so much fun and will remember this beautiful spot forever. Heaps of snow, it snowed while they were there, they started with a ski lesson which was fantastic, then lots of skiing, (a few stacks) but all are okay, snow ball fights, lots of chair lift rides to see the amazing sights, shopping in the village and taking time out to relax. Today they say goodbye to Whistler and go to Victoria..

  Can you tell I miss her???
  Skype is brilliant and we have been in contact  heaps..
